The substack void
Yelling into a empty room
I have mentioned in previous blogs that Substack can feel like talking into an empty void. especially when it comes to notes on Substack.
One of the downfalls of Substack is not knowing if your content is being read by others or if it’s just staying put in someone’s email for 6 months before being opened.
Half of me is tempted to go through my subscribers and delete the ones who never opened any of my blogs. If they haven’t opened one yet, they probably won’t start anytime soon.
Of course there are stats on Substack that give you a general idea of your content and what is being read and not etc.
Some days, it feels like my blogs are falling into the void of Substack, and it never hits the bottom of the Substack world. My content just keeps on falling until someone clicks on it .
I know people read my blogs, thanks to the courtesy of stats.
I have had a few blogs do well, so that’s reassuring.
Of course, it takes time for a writer to do well on Substack, so I won’t hold my breath.
Be sure to check out some of my other blogs. :)

Being new to substack, I am at the point where I'm not sure if people are seeing the few entries I've posted yet. Will that come with time? I hope so. Right now I'm apparently the only subscriber to my posts! But as for your posts, I do read and sometimes even respond.
Try not to worry about readers, comments, and likes—write for the enjoyment of it even if no one is reading, and you’ll see that readers will show up. But when you start focusing on engagement, or lack thereof, readers pick up that negativity and flee.
